Every year, we celebrate nurses everywhere with Nurses Week. The week begins on May 6, and ends on Florence Nightingale’s birthday, May 12, which is also International Nurses Day.
But for two Nightingale Nurses, it didn’t end there.
This year, Nightingale decided to add some truly epic excitement to the Nurses Week celebration by launching our “Go Legendary” contest. The contest offered one lucky winner and a companion an adventure-packed, all-expenses-paid “legendary” weekend in Miami.
Winner Jody Still and his friend Travis Hardin began their journey on Thursday, October 12 with a flight from Kentucky to Miami International Airport, where Nightingale staff welcomed them, and escorted them to their hotel accommodations in Miami’s world-famous South Beach.
Over the course of the next three days, the pair were sent on numerous adventures, which included a speedboat tour of Biscayne Bay from Miami to Key Biscayne, flying water jets at Miami Flyboard, touring graffiti mecca Wynwood and the Perez Art Museum, and dining at some of the city’s most famous and iconic restaurants.
“For Nurses Week, we wanted to do something big that would capture the Travel Nursing spirit of adventure,” said Director of Recruiting Catherine Arango. “Miami was a natural choice for the destination since our headquarters are located here in South Florida. And who wouldn’t want to come to Miami?”
Nightingale was very pleased with the enthusiastic reception the “Go Legendary” contest received, and is grateful to all of the RNs who entered.
“Who knows, maybe we will do this again next year, said Arango.”
