Dubbed the “Peach State” for one of its many famous agricultural exports, Georgia is also known as the “Empire State of the South” for all of the companies headquartered there. In fact, if it were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world!
Something for everyone
Like many east coast states, Georgia offers a variety of landscapes, from its coastal beaches to the Blue Ridge Mountains, and from scenic wilderness to the bustling urban nightlife of Atlanta. It's home to Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the world, where you can swim and dive with whale sharks, and history buffs will enjoy the state's many Civil War sites and monuments, including Stone Mountain, considered by many to be the “Mt. Rushmore of the South.”
Perhaps the most attractive thing about Georgia is how it's situated in the heart of the southeast, which is why it Atlanta is a hub for several major airlines. From here, it's easy to make brief jaunts to Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee. Consider that when you plan your next travel nursing destination!
